Applications of Transport Wax
Transport wax is commonly applied at the factory before vehicles are shipped. It is often used alongside polythene sheeting to ensure maximum protection. Once the vehicle reaches its destination, typically a showroom or the customer’s location, the wax and any additional protective materials are removed. This process ensures that the vehicle remains in pristine condition, free from the potential damage that can occur during its journey.
Types of Transport Wax
To cater to different needs, there are two primary types of transport wax available:
WF Transport Wax:
Properties: This type of wax will never completely dry. It is a self-healing, rust-proofing transport wax.
Removal: It can be easily removed with standard cleaning processes.
Usage: Ideal for scenarios where a flexible, self-healing protective layer is needed.
DF Transport Wax:
Properties: This wax forms a dry, flexible barrier against humidity cycles.
Removal: It does not require removal upon delivery, making it more suited for items that benefit from a permanent dry rust-proofing solution.
Usage: Best for items that require a dry protective coating without the need for subsequent cleaning.
