SLOSH FUEL TANK SEALER – NEW FORMULA
Slosh is designed for the sealing of steel and aluminium petrol and diesel tanks. Tests with dilutions of up to 85% corn ethanol show no degradation or softening of the sealer, so it is more than capable of protection against the ethanol content of modern fuel in both current E5 and proposed E10 standards.
We recommend a thorough cleaning of the tank interior with Rustbuster Tank-Kleen before the application of the sealer. Kits are available that combine Slosh and Tank-Kleen. All previously applied sealers should be removed before the application of Slosh, should you need to remove an existing/failing sealer please use Rustbuster R10-B1 Resin Remover.
This new formula is a lower viscosity (thinner) material than its predecessor allowing for ease of movement whilst inside the tank, this also allows it to easily reach all areas not pooling in areas. being of lower viscosity also makes it easier and quicker to pour out of the tank.
A 400ml can of Slosh will seal up to a ten-gallon (50 ltrs) tank and is recommended for motorcycle tanks and small cars.
An 800ml can treat a tank size of up to 20 gallons (100 ltrs).
Tips for best results with Slosh and fuel tank sealants
To read instructions for using Slosh click here>.
Here are some tips for the best results:
Do… use some nuts, washers or sharp stones as an abrasive with the Tank-Kleen solution to help remove rust and old petrol deposits.
Do… allow enough time for the tank to be 100% bone dry before you put the sealer into the tank.
Do… remove or protect anything that you do not want Slosh to seal, including plugs, fuel gauge sender units, breather pipes and filters etc.
Do Not… apply the sealer to a wet or even damp tank. It reacts with moisture and will cause a bubbling reaction.
Do Not… allow the sealer to pool in a very thick layer as this will cause the solvents to get trapped within the coating, and this can also cause a bubbling reaction.
